Food waste is the heaviest single item in the waste stream. Reduce the load in our Pelham garbage trucks by composting appropriate food scraps in your backyard composter. Sustainable Westchester & the Greenburgh Nature Center are selling Compost Bins and Rain Barrels at wholesale prices!  A variety of composters and rain barrels can be ordered online at https://greenburghnaturecenter.org/composting. Pickup dates are April 16th at the Ossining Earth Day Festival and April 17th at the Greenburgh Nature Center. Order deadline is April 13th.
